Castle Acre Priory is a beautiful near 1000 year old monastery which is one of the most important visitor attractions in Norfolk. The monastery is one of the biggest and best preserved sites in England for the time it was built. The ruins show the monks love of decorations and is reflected throughout the site.
The priory offers many things to see on the site, such as the beautiful west end church gable or what the monks used to lodge or our recreated herb garden on what we picture the monks would have used to grow their herbs for food, medicinal and decorative purposes. We are also just a short walk away from the Castle Acre Castle, so if you want to see some more historic ruins be sure to check that out. If you are interested in visiting and want to find out more about the priory then be sure to check out our website.
