It is said that The Bowling Green Inn is the oldest pub in Wells, we have records going back to 1673, though it is believed to be older than that.
We offer traditional home cooked cuisine in a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere that the whole family can enjoy. We are a family orientated pub so welcome children and dogs. We have a children’s menu with all the usual favourites. If they feel that the normal menu is for them we can offer some of the meals as ½ portions.
We serve a wonderful selection of local ales and wines from around the world.
You can enjoy a light bite and a cool glass of wine in our secluded beer garden when the sun shines. Or on the other hand, when the wind is a bit nippy, sit by the blazing log burning fire with a glass of your local Woodforde’s Wherry and a plate of beer battered haddock chips and mushy peas.
Our food is all home cooked using locally sourced food so our menu regularly changes.
On Sundays we serve a traditional roast. Bed and Breakfast is available in a newly converted barn with lots of character is situated behind the pub in a quiet location.
There are 2 rooms, both with ensuite bathrooms, which can either accommodate a double bed or twin beds. Our largest room can also accommodate a small family with 2 single sofa beds.

Ahoy me hearties! Read all about a trip out to sea in a beautiful (but not a pea green) boat and watching the seals at Blakeney Spit. It just might whet your appetite to take a trip in one of the passenger boats, to see the comical seals and their pups for yourself
